The story of Kaloria

Hear "Kaloria" on the Songs page

My first memory of this song is practicing it in the spare rooms off the courtyard of Leôwey Klára Gimnázium in Pécs, Hungary. I had a room there as I was teaching English and one of the perks is I had lots of extra room to jam with local musicians. The chord changes were inspired by the Larry Carlton version of the Miles Davis track "So What" from the Last Nite album.

Someday I would like to do a more acoustic version of this song, but with the band it became more of a fusion jam, and the remake has ended up even more so. I have one recording of Robin Hód playing this live and it is quite impressive. Really shows off the level of talent I had in the band at the time. You can hear that version in this set here at the link below, from a show in Budapest: https://soundcloud.com/user-1781007/cappuccino-and-cream-live
